Under 11 Harrison Buckley takes up boxing

Fleetwood Town Under 11 Harrison Buckley is prepped and ready for his boxing debut on Friday as his coaches at Blundells Boxing Club Wigan entered him into the fight.

Harrison first started practising his skills at home and quickly realised he had quite the knack for it, so he ended up going to his local boxing gym in August this year. He first went to improve his fitness but quickly got to sparring with boys aged between nine and 12 years of age, who have already had several fights.

After training three times a week consistently since August, his coaches at the gym, Lee and Luke Blundell, made the decision that he will fight on an upcoming show, which will take place on Friday 22 November.

The fight will be a full three rounds, and the decision to throw him into this rather than giving him an exhibition first only shows the confidence everyone at the gym has in him. The coaches are very enthusiastic about his abilities and have big plans for him in the future.

Well done Harrison and good luck in your bout!
